PP_167	That Catherine Thompson (167) was the mother of Mary Hopwood (83)
	Mary daughter of Mark Hopwood and Catherine was baptised in Sutton-upon-Derwent on 14 February 1743.		PP_166
	Mark Hopwood and Catherine had 6 children baptised in Sutton-upon-Derwent between 1743 and 1750.
	Mark Hopwood and Catherine Thompson married in 1741 in Acaster Malbis (10 miles west of Sutton-upon-Derwent).		M_1741
	This does not tally with the letter written by John Hunsley in 1809 to his daughter Margaret Hunsley, which says that Mary's mother was Catherine Whitehouse.
	But, if Catherine Thompson is the Katherine Thompson daughter of Matthew baptised in Acaster Malbis in 1716 (she would have been 26 on marrying in 1743),		B_1716
	then she had a younger sister Mary who was born in 1722, also in Acaster Malbis,		B_1722
	who married a certain John Woodhouse in 1744 in Sutton-upon-Derwent (where her sister Catherine was living at the time),		M_1744
	and who had a daughter named Catherine Woodhouse in Sutton-upon-Derwent in 1747.		B_1747
	So when John Hunsley wrote that letter in 1809 be confused the surname of his wife's mother Catherine (Thompson) with that of his wife's cousin Catherine (Whitehouse).		B_1747
	That the baptism in Sutton-upon-Derwent in 1743 leads nevertheless so quickly to a Catherine Whitehouse, it seems to me, confirms that it is the correct one.		B_1747
	So the mother of Mary Hopwood (83),
	Catherine Thompson (167), born in 1716 in Acaster Malbis,
	married to Mark Hopwood (166) in 1741 in Acaster Malbis,
	died in  in , was the daughter of
	Matthew Thompson (334), and ? (335).		PP_334
